A Turkish Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when one of its engines caught fire.
According to officials, the flight, carrying 290 passengers, which finally took off at around 7 AM Tuesday route to Istanbul.
The pilot detected a malfunction in one of the engines just after 15 minutes passing into the flight. After then acting swiftly, the pilot opted for an emergency landing.
The aircraft remained airborne for nearly an hour and a half before landing safely.
