Faridpur is observing the 50th death anniversary of Polli Kobi Jasimuddin with various events. On the occasion, Quran recitation began at the poet’s gravesite after the Fajr prayer.
Kamrul Ahsan Molla, the Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur, laid a floral wreath at the poet’s grave in Gobindpur village of Ambikapur Union at 10 am.
On behalf of the poet’s family, his granddaughter Madhubala Jasimuddin also offered a floral tribute. A prayer was later held for the poet’s soul.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur announced that, on the occasion of the rural poet’s 50th death anniversary, the district administration will soon publish a book titled Mritunjayi Jasimuddin.
Additionally, a discussion on the poet’s life will be held in the afternoon at the Faridpur municipality.
