U.S. President Donald Trump met with his advisers to make a final decision on a proposed agreement to extend the ceasefire with Iran. However, the meeting ended without any official announcement.
Trump said Iran must promise never to develop nuclear weapons or nuclear bombs.
He also said shipping through the Strait of Hormuz must remain fully open, and all sea mines in the area must be removed.
In a social media post, Trump said the United States is ready to ease restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz.
The proposed deal would extend the ceasefire for 60 days and begin discussions on the future of Iran’s nuclear program.
Meanwhile, Iran said that no talks are currently taking place regarding its nuclear program.
