As tensions continue to rise due to ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, the first group of 28 Bangladeshi nationals residing in Iran has departed for Pakistan by road and has reached the border.
In a statement Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has informed this on Thursday night.
With assistance of Pakistani government, the group is expected to reach Karachi and from where they will return to Bangladesh by air.
Bangladesh embassy in Tehran is actively supporting the repatriation process and will continue assisting other Bangladeshi citizens in Iran who wish to return until the security situation improves.
Earlier, on Sunday, Foreign Ministry confirmed that the government had initiated the repatriation process for Bangladeshis in Iran.
