The first martyr of July mass uprising, Abu Sayeed, has seen justice as two police personnel have been sentenced to death, while others received various terms of imprisonment.
The verdict was delivered in the after noon by International Crimes Tribunal-2. Earlier on Thursday.
Six arrested accused were brought before the tribunal.
The case involves 30 accused, including former Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Hasibur Rashid, former Proctor Shariful Islam, former Assistant Sub-Inspector Amir Hossain, and former Constable Sujan Chandra Roy.
Among the 30 accused, six are currently in custody, while the remaining 24 are absconding.
The investigation report was submitted on June 24 last year. Charges were framed on August 6, and the trial of the Abu Sayeed murder case began on August 27.
