Fishing has resumed in the Bay of Bengal after a 58-day government ban ended.
Soon after the restriction was lifted, hundreds of fishing trawlers left different coastal areas, including Barguna, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Bhola, and Barishal, heading into deep sea waters.
Fishing communities say the end of the ban has brought relief and a festive atmosphere to local landing stations.
During the restriction period, income remained stopped, creating hardship for many fishermen.
However, ahead of the reopening, they completed preparations such as repairing boats, arranging nets, storing ice, and stocking fuel.
