A risk of flash flooding has emerged in Sunamganj amid non-stop heavy rainfall in the region. Authorities have issued warnings across the haor areas to prepare for possible flooding.
With fears of early flooding submerging crops, local administration launched field-level awareness campaigns, including public announcements urging farmers to harvest their paddy as quickly as possible.
Bangladesh Water Development Board, Department of Agricultural Extension, and Local Government Division are separately conducting awareness drives to alert farmers.
Weather forecasts are also being broadcast through loudspeakers at mosques, temples, and other religious institutions.
