Bangladesh's government says it is fully prepared to deal with the post-flood situation in Chattogram and will continue rehabilitation efforts until every affected family is resettled.
Speaking at a relief distribution programme in Patenga's Maijpara area on Friday, Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said around 7lakh people have been affected by the floods in Chattogram.
He said relief, healthcare and rehabilitation activities are continuing in the affected areas. So far, cooked meals have been distributed to 40,hazar people, while 75,Thousand others have received dry food.
The government is also providing seeds to affected farmers, arranging rehabilitation support for displaced families, and has pledged to repair damaged roads as quickly as possible.
