Champions League runner-up Inter Milan have been eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after a 2-nil defeat to Brazilian side Fluminense.
Despite dominating nearly 70 percent of possession, Inter failed to make it count, while Fluminense capitalized on their chances.
The Brazilian club took an early lead just three minutes into the match through Argentine striker Germán Cano.
The second and final goal came deep into stoppage time, in the 93rd minute, scored by Hercules.
While Fluminense impressed as a unit, veteran Brazilian center-back Thiago Silva stood out with a commanding performance in defense.
With this win, Fluminense advance to the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.
