Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury commented that foreign investment will play an important role in the economy as well as providing employment to the country's people.
He said this after inspecting the Laldia Char and Bay Terminal projects in Chattogram this morning. He said the world famous port operator APM Terminals of the Netherlands will work at Laldia Char and it will invest 800 million dollars in Bangladesh.
Besides, the World Bank, Dubai's DP World, Singapore Port Authority PSA have already came forward with an investment of 8 to 10 billion dollars in the construction of the Bay Terminal, the largest project in the history of Bangladesh.
