He was apprehended by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) from the Gulshan area of the capital and subsequently taken to the DB office. 

He is scheduled to be produced before the International Criminal Tribunal today. 

He was arrested over a case involving "murder and crimes against humanity" surrounding the Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Motijheel's Shapla Chattar. 

On Wednesday, following an appearance at the CMM Court in connection with a Counter-Terrorism Act case filed at Shahbagh Police Station, Latif Siddiqui had informed reporters that if the police did not arrest him over the Shapla Chattar murder case, he intended to surrender before the tribunal by Sunday or Monday.
