Amid global instability, the government has increased fuel prices by 15 to 20 taka per liter, impacting regions across the country, including Lakshmipur.
Transport drivers and general consumers in the district are facing severe hardship due to the fuel shortage and rising prices.
While motorcycle riders expressed frustration, transport drivers say, they are willing to purchase fuel at higher prices, provided there is a regular and reliable supply.
On the other hand, filling station owners report that fuel supply from depots remains limited.
They claimed, the shortage has arisen because supply is far below demand.
