Meanwhile, the ongoing fuel shortage is raising concerns about potential suffering for travellers during the upcoming Eid journeys.

Because of the long queues at filling stations, many private cars and buses are unable to refuel, leaving several vehicles off the roads and slightly easing traffic congestion in the capital.

However, transport operators fear that if the crisis continues, Eid travel could face serious disruptions.

They warn that not only passengers will suffer, but bus schedules could also become chaotic.

Meanwhile, many motorists expressed frustration as the long queues of private vehicles at pumps are forcing them to spend extra time just to get fuel.
