A severe gas shortage has entered its sixth consecutive day in Narsingdi, forcing the closure of several factories and CNG filling stations while causing widespread public hardship.
Since early Wednesday, the absence of gas in pipelines has shut down most of the district's 17 CNG filling stations, leaving drivers stranded and unable to refuel.
Gas-dependent factories have also suffered major production disruptions, with only a few attempting to continue limited operations.
According to the Narsingdi Filling Station Owners Association, stations had continued supplying gas despite reduced pressure over the past several days.
However, with no gas flowing through the pipelines since dawn, operations have come to a complete halt.
The gas crisis has also affected households, leaving many without cooking gas.
