Gas supply from the repaired floating LNG terminal at Maheshkhali is expected to partially resume today, bringing relief to the ongoing gas shortage affecting industries, power generation, CNG stations, and residential consumers.
According to Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited (RPGCL), all preparations have been completed. Initially, the terminal will supply between 200 and 300 million cubic feet of gas per day to the national grid.
Once fully operational next week, daily supply is expected to reach around 500 million cubic feet.
A technical fault at the floating LNG terminal had reduced gas supply to the national grid by approximately 500 million cubic feet per day for more than two weeks, triggering severe shortages across residential, industrial, commercial, CNG, and power sectors nationwide.
