Government has completed its measles-rubella vaccination campaign in Chattogram division, bringing nearly 44 lakh children under vaccine coverage.
However, despite the end of the campaign, the dominance of measles has not declined.
Concerned parents continue to crowd hospitals daily with infected children.
Health experts say, it will take about three weeks for the vaccine to become fully effective, after which they expect the situation to improve.
Meanwhile, pneumonia is also spreading alongside measles, putting hospitals under severe pressure to manage both illnesses.
Officials remain hopeful that infection rates will gradually decrease as more children come under vaccination coverage.
