PM Tarique Rahman has said, his government is considering improving rail communication without damaging agricultural land. He also stated that a canal excavation programme has been undertaken to reduce waterlogging in various cities.
Earlier, the Premier arrived at Osmani International Airport at around 10am local time before travelling to the shrine, where he offered prayers at around 10:30am.
Later in the morning, he attended the foundation stone ceremony for a development project aimed at improving infrastructure along the Surma River, including flood prevention and drainage works, followed by a public meeting with local dignitaries.
Further engagements scheduled for the day included the inauguration of a sports event at Sylhet District Stadium and a party meeting at the District Shilpakala Academy in the afternoon.
