Interim government has sent Khokon Chandra Barman, who was seriously injured during July movement, to Russia for advanced treatment. He left Dhaka on a Qatar Airways flight this morning along with Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, the personal officer of the chief adviser.
Khokon was shot in front of Jatrabari police station in the capital on 5th August. A large part of his face, including his bones, was destroyed by the bullet. Khokon's upper lip, gums, nose, and palate are no longer there.
Even by looking at his face, there is no way to identify him anymore. Initially, a pre-liminary assessment will be conducted at a hospital in Moscow. At the same time, an attempt will be made to restore his appearance to its previous state through 3-D animation.
