Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said the government is working with proper plans to improve the lives of people across the country. He also announced that the budget allocation for Family Cards and Farmer Cards will be increased in the next national budget.
On Saturday morning, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left his residence in Gulshan for Chandpur. Along the way, party leaders, activists, and people from different professions welcomed him warmly.
Due to large crowds, he reached a scheduled roadside rally at Lakshmipur Bazar in Barura, Cumilla later than planned, and the gathering turned into a large public meeting.
Later, the Prime Minister attended the inauguration of the re-excavation work of the Khordda Canal at Waruk Bazar in Shahrashti, Chandpur. The canal was originally excavated during the time of former President Ziaur Rahman.
After inaugurating the project, the Prime Minister planted a tree sapling beside the canal. In his speech, he promised to continue government development programs, including canal excavation projects and support programs like the Family Card and Farmer Card schemes.
Earlier in Cumilla, the Prime Minister said that the current responsibility of the BNP government is to rebuild the country, and he asked for cooperation from all citizens to achieve that goal.
