High Court has relieved Grameen Kalyan Trust to pay Tk 666 crore tax. Fresh hearing to be held in new bench.
Earlier on August 4th, a double bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar and Justice SM Moniruzzaman passed the order after disposal of the petition filed by Grameen Kalyan, a non-profit social business company founded by Dr Yunus.
Later, according to the rule, the verdict was revoked and the documents were sent to the Chief Justice. The Chief Justice will appoint a new bench for the case hearing.
Earlier, the National Board of Revenue said, Dr. Muhammad Yunus' organization Grameen Kalyan Trust will have to pay Tk 666 crore as tax in seven tax years from 2011 to 2017.
