The verdict against the accused in the Ramna Batamul bombing case filed two decades ago is likely to be announced today. For the second day, the High Court is scheduled tol read out the verdict in the case.
High Court bench comprising Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam and Justice Nasrin Akhter will announce the verdict.
Earlier, the High Court started reading the verdict in the much-discussed case on May 8.
On April 14, 2001, a bomb attack took place at Pohela Baishakh ceremony in Ramna Batamul. Nine people were killed on the spot.
One died later in the hospital. The case filed in this incident came to be known as the Ramna bomb attack case.
On June 23, 2014, Dhaka's Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Ruhul Amin delivered the verdict.
In the verdict, eight people, including Mufti Hannan, were sentenced to death and six others to life imprisonment.
