Heavy fighting continues as the United States and Israel carry out strikes in Tehran, while Iran launches counterattacks. A US-based human rights group says the death toll in Iran has crossed one thousand in five days of conflict.

Missile strikes began early Wednesday targeting military and security sites in Tehran, with explosions reported near Enqelab Square and damage to a police station in the city center.

Air attacks were also reported in Isfahan, Qom, and Urmia, while in Beirut at least ten people were killed in separate strikes.

Iran claimed responsibility for attacks on US-linked facilities in Saudi Arabia and targeted the US embassy in Dubai, further widening tensions across the region.

After Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, US President Donald Trump said naval forces would be deployed to protect oil tankers and maintain shipping routes.

Meanwhile in Dhaka, US Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur met with the Foreign Minister and State Minister to discuss bilateral relations, describing the talks as productive amid rising global concern over the expanding conflict.
