In Sunamganj, Habiganj, Kishoreganj, and Netrokona, rising water levels suddenly submerged ripe and semi-ripe paddy fields.

Farmers are now struggling to harvest waterlogged crops. Owing to persistent rain, threshing and drying harvested paddy have become nearly impossible. 

As a result, paddy stored in open yards is rotting. Farmers fear, they may not even recover production costs. 

However, with improved weather conditions since yesterday, many are beginning to regain hope.
