The High Court has accepted jail appeals filed by two death-row convicts in the Ramisa rape and murder case.
A bench of Justice Mohammad Ali and Justice Saiful Islam admitted the appeals for hearing.
In their petitions, convict Sohel Rana claimed the incident occurred while he was intoxicated and sought forgiveness, while his wife Swapna Khatun argued she was wrongly implicated.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General has sought urgent hearing of multiple child rape and murder cases, including Asaiya's, before a special High Court bench.
