Millions of Muslim pilgrims have gathered today at the historic plain of Arafat as the sacred rituals of Hajj reached their most significant stage. From the tent city of Mina, pilgrims dressed in white Ihram moved toward Arafat before dawn, filling the air with the chant “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik.”
They will remain there until sunset, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and blessings from Almighty Allah.
According to Islamic tradition, staying in Arafat on the 9th of Zilhajj is the most important pillar of Hajj.
More than 1.5 million pilgrims from around the world assembled at the field where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered his farewell sermon.
However, the main Hajj rituals will conclude on Wednesday with the symbolic stoning of the devil and animal sacrifice in Mina.
