On Thursday evening in Gazipur’s Kaliakoir area, a boat carrying about 20 people capsized in the Turag River after colliding with another vessel during Durga Puja idol immersion. Two children, Ankita and Tanmoy, went missing in the incident. 

On Friday morning, rescue workers recovered Ankita’s body trapped inside the capsized boat. Divers from the fire service are continuing their search for Tanmoy. 

In a separate incident in Naogaon’s Mahadevpur, a teenager named Rony also went missing during idol immersion. Fire service teams are actively conducting a second phase of search operations in both rivers.
