Home Adviser Lt. General (rtd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said, India has been forced to move away from building a barbed wire fence due to the Bangladesh government and the BGB taking a strong stance.
The Home Affairs Adviser held an hour-long meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies under the Home Ministry at the Secretariat on Sunday regarding the Bangladesh-India border situation.
The Home Affairs Adviser also said, Bangladesh wants to review border agreement with India. A border meeting between the two countries to be held next month.
Some agreements made by the previous Awami League government will be reviewed there.
India has an agreement that no one can build any structure within 150 yards of the Bangladesh border.
