The Advisory Council has already approved the proposed budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed will present the budget to the media at 3 pm.

The proposed budget was approved at a meeting of Advisory Council chaired by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at his office in the capital this morning.

This year the budget's size is taka 7 lakh 89 thousand crore.

The total development expenditure including annual development program is taka 2 lakh 45 thousand crore.

The operating expenditure is 5 lakh 44 thousand crore taka.

The highest allocation is in the local government department, Tk 42 thousand 4 thousand and crore.

The second highest allocation is in the defense sector, Tk 40 thousand 8 hundred and 51 crore.

The allocation for the Election Commission Secretariat is Tk 2 thousand 9 hundred and 56 crore.

GDP growth is estimated at 5.25 percent.
