At the request of National Citizen Party- NCP, BNP’s student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal-JCD, has decided to relocate its August 3 rally commemorating the July Uprising from the Shaheed Minar to Shahbagh.
JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib has informed this at a press conference held at BNP central office in Nayapaltan this morning.
He stated that although JCD had got permission to hold the rally at Shaheed Minar, they decided to honor the repeated requests of NCP out of goodwill.
Despite facing various campaigns, JCD chose to maintain harmony by changing the rally venue.
JCD president also acknowledged that the rally at Shahbagh might cause public inconvenience and urged city residents to consider the matter with understanding and patience.
