England star batter Joe Root has become the second-highest run scorer in the history of Test cricket, trailing only India’s legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
In the ongoing Manchester Test against India, Root played a remarkable innings of 150 runs in the first innings.
With this, he surpassed cricket legends like Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid in career Test runs.
Root’s total Test runs now stand at 13,409. Tendulkar remains the top scorer with 15,921 runs. Additionally,
Root scored his 38th Test century during the match, ranking fifth in the all-time list for most Test centuries.
