The ruling military Junta has stepped up attacks on rebels in Myanmar's Rakhine with warplanes and warships.
Local media reported that there have been civilian casualties in these attacks.
On Tuesday, Junta forces launched a bombardment of rebel positions on Ramri Island from a navy warship.
Since last month, the insurgent group Arakan Army has started attacking army posts and security forces in Rakhine.
After that, the Junta forces launched a counter-attack, leading to massive clashes between the two sides.
With the strengthening Junta attacks in Rakhine, it is feared that the conflict will spread to the western region as well.
The junta government plans to build a Chinese-funded deep-sea port on Rakhine's Ramree Island.
