The pressure of Eid travel has intensified at Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station as thousands of passengers rushed to catch trains heading to different parts of the country.
The highest crowd was noticed on the Burimari Express bound for Lalmonirhat, where passengers packed into every available space inside the train.
Despite efforts by railway authorities and security personnel to stop passengers from climbing onto train roofs, many still took the dangerous journey due to overcrowding.
Some train coaches had no standing room left, forcing desperate passengers to travel on rooftops and hang from doors.
The roof of the Burimari Express became completely filled nearly half an hour before departure.
