Latif Siddique among 16 sent to jail in anti-terror case

Former minister and expelled Awami League member Abdul Latif Siddique, along with 15 others, have been sent to jail  in a case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act at Shahbagh Police Station.

According to Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police, the 16 individuals were shown arrested on Thursday night, 11 hours after being taken into custody. 

 

 

The arrests followed a roundtable discussion held at  Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium, organized by a  platform “Moncho 71.”

 

 

Upon learning of the event, a group led by Al Amin Russell under the banner “July Joddha” reportedly surrounded the venue. 

 

 

They confined Latif Siddique, teachers, journalists, and other participants inside the premises. Later, police took 16 individuals into custody.
