Famous characters created by Satyajit Ray are detective Feluda, scientific professor Shanku and Tarinikhuro. Apart from these three characters, he also wrote many short novels and short stories.

The main target of his writing was teenage readers. He was a favorite writer for all young and old. Most of Satyajit Ray’s novels and stories were published by Anand Prakashan in Kolkata.

In the mid-1990s, many of his film essays and short story collections were published in the West. Many of his stories have been translated and published in English.
