Locals say, at around 8 pm, Monowara Begum went out  to collect mangoes from a nearby orchard beside her home. 

During that time she was struck by lightning and critically injured. 

She was taken to Chapainawabganj District Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. 

In another incident, Abdul Malek went to a paddy field in Babupur during that time, lightning struck him and he died on the spot.
