Taking advantage of the shortage, some drivers are reportedly charging passengers two to three times the usual fare, adding to commuters’ woes.

The gas crisis has continued at CNG stations across the port city for several days, with long lines becoming a regular sight. 

Drivers say they are losing a large part of their working day waiting at stations, making it increasingly difficult to pay owners’ daily deposits and support their families. 

Passengers are calling for an end to the fare irregularities.
