Leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami have begun gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital for the party’s national rally. Many started arriving from different parts of the country since last night. The main formal program is scheduled to begin this afternoon.
From early morning, the rally venue has seen a steady influx of party leaders, workers, and supporters. Suhrawardy Udyan is now filled to capacity. Giant screens have been installed to accommodate the large turnout.
The party expects an attendance of over 10 lakh people. During the rally, The party is set to present seven key demands, including the implementation of the Proportional Representation (PR) system in elections.
Other demands include ensuring justice for the mass killings on August 5, 2024, and previous incidents; fundamental reforms at all levels of the state, implementation of July Charter Declaration etc.
