Measles outbreak in Bangladesh is rising. It causes concern in the country. Specialist doctors say, typically, children aged six months to one year are most vulnerable, though older individuals can also be affected in the disease.
Doctors advise that any child showing fever or measles symptoms should not attend school and should be kept away from others.
However, parents report that schools in the capital have not issued any warnings. A special measles vaccination campaign is set to start on Sunday.
Experts recommend limiting children’s outdoor movement due to the highly contagious nature of the disease.
Parents are calling for schools to implement preventive measures, which have not yet been taken.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Shishu Hospital confirms, all doctors and nurses nationwide are receiving special training for treating measles.
