World Health Organization- WHO has reported a widespread measles outbreak across 58 districts in Bangladesh, with the highest number of cases recorded in Dhaka.
According to WHO, Dhaka has reported at least 8263 measles cases so far. Rajshahi ranks second, with 3747 reported infections. Alarmingly, 79 percent of those infected are children under the age of five.
WHO has classified measles-related deaths in Bangladesh as a high national risk, under scoring the urgent need for strengthened public health interventions.
