Villagers claim that at least eight children have died in isolated areas of Ruma Upazila over the past two months, although the official death toll stands at two.

The worst-hit areas in Ruma Upazila, four to five members of the same family have been infected, while in others the disease has spread to more than a hundred households. 

Poor transportation and communication networks have made it difficult for regular healthcare services and vaccination campaigns to reach these remote communities. 

As a result, the condition of many sick children deteriorates before they can be taken to hospitals.
