Another student of Milestone School and College has died from injuries sustained in the recent plane crash, raising the official death toll to 35.
The deceased, 14-year-old Shahel Farabi Ayan, was undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
He passed away at around 1:45 am, according to sources from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With Ayan's passing, the total number of deaths has risen to 35, while 33 others remain under treatment.
In a related development, the Cabinet Division has formed a 9-member investigation committee to probe the cause of the crash.
The committee, headed by former Secretary AKM Jafar Ullah Khan, has been tasked with determining the reasons behind the incident, identifying those responsible, and assessing the extent of the damage.
A gazette notification was issued on Sunday confirming the formation of the committee.
The committee has been given four weeks from the date of the gazette to submit its findings.
