The body of Mahiya Tasnim Maya arrived at her grandfather’s home in Joypur village, Mujibnagar upazila, early in the morning. 

The air grew heavy with grief as relatives and locals mourned the young girl’s untimely death.

After the funeral prayer, she was buried at the local cemetery. Mahiya was an eighth-grade student at Milestone School and College. 

She passed away Thursday afternoon while undergoing treatment at the National Burn Institute.
