Despite repeated recruitment drives, the government continues to face difficulties in appointing qualified teachers to private educational institutions across Bangladesh.
According to the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority -NTRCA, nearly one-third of entry-level teaching positions have remained vacant on average in each of its previous recruitment rounds.
At the same time, many registered candidates have seen their certification expire after years of unsuccessful attempts to secure employment.
In a significant policy shift, the NTRCA is now moving away from the traditional registration-based recruitment system.
Instead, it plans to recruit teachers directly through open advertisements.
