It has been twelve years after the shocking Narayanganj seven-murder case, the victims’ families are still waiting for justice. Although lower courts and High Court delivered verdicts, the case remains stalled at Appellate Division following appeals by the convicted men.

Today marks 12 years since the brutal Narayanganj seven-murder case.

In April 2014, former Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarkar, and five others were abducted from the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road.

Three days later, their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakshya River.

In 2017, a trial court sentenced 26 people, including main accused Noor Hossain and three dismissed RAB officers, to death.

Later, the High Court upheld 15 death sentences and commuted 11 others to life imprisonment.

But after further appeals to the Supreme Court, the case remains unresolved, leaving the victims’ families frustrated and heartbroken.
