Muslims throughout the country are observing the occasion by offering animal sacrifices in obedience to the command of Almighty Allah. 

Meanwhile, the main Eid congregation of Bangladesh has held at National Eidgah in the capital. 

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joined in the prayers with thousands of people from all walks of life. 

Following the prayers, special sermons and munajat were offered, seeking peace, unity and prosperity for the Muslim Ummah and the nation.
