Nationwide road mishaps claim at least eight lives

At least eight people including Indian couple and a police constable have been killed in nationwide separate road mishaps on Saturday. Three labourers were killed while walking on the side of the road when a lorry lost control in Chattogram.

Chattogram highway at Mirsrai on Saturday morning. On the other hand, two people have been killed in a head-on coalliation between CNG-run autorickshaw and a pick-up van in Feni's Fulgazi.

Meanwhile, two Indian nationals were killed when a truck rammed into a private car in Taltala area in Satkhira. The deceased were identified as Asim Kumar Biswas, and Chobi Biswas.

Asim was the deputy manager of the Khulna-Mongla port rail line project. The accident occurred at 8 am in front of BGB headquarters in Sadar upazila when the Khulna-bound truck hit the private car.

On the other hand, a police constable, Bitan Barua, was killed and two others were injured as a lorry hit a police vehicle at Rajendrapur intersection in Gazipur Sadar upazila this morning.
