New Year celebrations have brought vibrant colors to the green hills of Bangladesh. Festivities have began with the symbolic floating of flowers in rivers.
In Khagrachari, the celebrations began at dawn with traditional “flower floating” ceremony of Chakma community. People gathered along the banks of Chengi River.
Dressed in traditional attire, individuals of all ages carried flowers and floated them in the river.
In Rangamati, young men and women floated flowers in Kaptai Lake, offering prayers for peace and prosperity in the new year.
From early morning, people started to gather across areas such as Rajbari, Garjantali, and Kerani Hill.
Similarly, in Bandarban, celebrations began with flower offerings along the banks of Sangu River.
