The operation was done right after Brazilian league season ended. 

Though doctors advised him to take rest, Neymar played for Santos to help the team avoid relegation. 

After the season finished, he followed medical advice, and took surgery immediately. 

Brazilian coach Carlo earlier said, Neymar must recover within a fixed time to be considered for the World Cup. 

European media report Neymar could return in about a month and may play again on January 2026 .
