The government is launching the Prime Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament after the success of Notun Kuri.
The competition is scheduled to begin on September 10, with the Prime Minister expected to inaugurate the event.
Around 50,000 schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions for students from grades six to twelve will participate.
The tournament will be held in stages, starting from the upazila level, followed by district and divisional rounds before reaching the national finals.
The initiative follows the successful Notun Kuri programme and the government's decision to make sports activities mandatory in schools.
