During his visit the premier is also scheduled to address a public rally. 

The visit has sparked excitement among local residents and party leaders, who are hopeful for major announcements on education, agriculture, economic growth and tourism development. 

Located along the Padma, Meghna and Dakatia rivers, Chandpur is widely known as the home of Hilsa fish. Despite having strong road, rail and river connectivity, the district has long failed to achieve its expected development potential for various reasons. 

However, residents are now looking forward to a new beginning surrounding the Prime Minister’s visit.

Local stakeholders say key issues such as river erosion, permanent campuses for the science and technology university and medical college, river-based tourism, and the rapid establishment of an EPZ should be highlighted before the Prime Minister during the visit.
